According to Argus Media, diesel fuel imports to Ukraine increased by 5.6% in 2024 compared to 2023. This marks the second consecutive year of import recovery after a decline in 2022 due to Russia’s full-scale invasion.
As a result, the share of diesel fuel procured by The State Operator for Non-Lethal Acquisition (DOT) for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine accounts for 7.5% of the total imported volume. This makes it the largest diesel procurement in Ukraine after the agricultural sector. Ensuring stable supplies and effective management of resources necessary for military operations remains a key objective of logistical support.
"Today, diesel fuel is not just a strategic resource but a guarantee of mobility, combat readiness, and resilience of the Ukrainian army. DOT is working to ensure that the military has uninterrupted access to high-quality fuel by using transparent procurement mechanisms and modern planning approaches," said Marina Yeremieieva, Director of the DOT Fuel and Lubricants Program.
By promptly responding to changes in the fuel market, DOT continues to fulfill its primary mission — providing the Ukrainian army with high-quality fuel through transparent and competitive procedures.
