DOT procured winter military boots for the AFU at an unprecedentedly low price

The State Operator For Non-Lethal Acquisition purchased "Talan" winter military boots (LLC "Talanlegprom") 5% cheaper than in all previous procurements of this item for the AFU. The savings were achieved by expanding competition and adhering to the principle of equal access conditions for participants in the procurement process.

Now the boots will cost not 2,700 UAH ($74), but 2,564 UAH ($65) per pair. The savings in hryvnias amounted to 5%, and in dollars – 15%. The total savings on this procurement exceeded 46 million UAH.

“We set the expected cost for winter boots according to the market price. Previously, Talans for the Armed Forces cost the state more than the same footwear, for example, for the National Guard. Through competitive bidding, we corrected this imbalance. All the money we saved will be reallocated to additional needs for military supplies in the future,” commented Victoria Vynogradova, Director of Procurement Management at DOT.

It should be noted that earlier, with the savings, DOT began procuring additional gear for the military.
