DOT is launching a new wave of procurement of clothing items. The list of announced items, in addition to the standard nomenclature, includes such items as panamas, berets, demi-season boots, camouflage suits and other items of equipment for the first time.
"For the first time, the military has officially ordered such items as panama hats, berets and camouflage suits. Currently, potential suppliers are undergoing the procedure of obtaining certificates of conformity for the products in accordance with the current technical specifications," said Mykyta Chichkan, Director of the DOT's clothing programme.
Some procurement procedures have already started, while other items will be announced in the near future. All tender announcements are posted on the Prozorro electronic platform.
The procurement of 10 types of military berets has already been announced. The announcement of procedures for panama hats, two types of camouflage suits, as well as one item each of shirts, demi-season boots and summer trousers is expected in the near future.
The procurement is based on official requests from the Logistics Forces Command and is aimed at supplying various types and branches of the armed forces, taking into account their functional tasks, conditions of service and specifics of combat use. This approach allows us to tailor the supplies to the needs of specific units.
