DOT launches procurement of clothing and gear for 2026

DOT launches procurement of clothing and gear for 2026

To keep clothing and gear reaching service members on time, DOT is sticking with its approach of planning and signing contracts for the next annual cycle well in advance.

That’s why DOT has already announced the first procurement items for 2026, covering headgear, summer and winter footwear, uniform components, and personal protective equipment. These include summer and winter uniforms, combat shirts, boonie hats, sneakers and boots, underwear, and other clothing and equipment.

In the area of PPE, tenders have been announced for modular body armor sets and combat ballistic helmets. The list also includes fire‑resistant coveralls for combat vehicle crews, sleeping bags, load‑bearing belts, and other gear.

Some items will be produced in both current camouflage patterns MM‑14 and MM‑25,  depending on the specifications of the item being procured.

Deliveries under these contracts are planned across 2026, with additional announcements on clothing and gear expected over the next two months.

Key changes for suppliers in 2026 include updated Technical Specifications on packaging and labeling, along with revisions to the draft state contract. These will introduce:

  • improved procedures for product acceptance

  • reduced penalty sanctions

  • longer notification periods for force majeure circumstances

  • the option to use the DOT‑Chain system

  • sanctions for delays in replacing defective batches or reimbursing their cost

  • defined timelines for replacement or reimbursement of defective goods

  • sanctions for misuse of funds or failure to return unused advance payments

“To prepare for the coming year, both for DOT and for the market, we held consultations with suppliers in advance. These talks helped us review upcoming changes, clarify technical requirements, and assess production capacity. The approach gives businesses predictability and ensures stable supply for the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” said Mykyta Chichkan, Director of the Clothing and Gear programme at DOT.
