DOT has purchased NATO-standard tactical headsets for the first time

The State Operator for Non-Lethal Acquisition has successfully completed the procurement of tactical headsets, whose technical specifications were approved only this year and updated in accordance with NATO standards.

In February 2025, a technical specification for tactical headsets was approved, introducing enhanced requirements for protection level, functionality, and reliability. By July, DOT announced the first tenders, which resulted in contracts for the supply of 40,000 headsets with a total value of UAH 635,3 million.

"This procurement is a significant step toward aligning our procurement system with NATO standards. It's not just a new item in the inventory - it's a guarantee of safety, compatibility, and reliability of the equipment that will be delivered to our military this autumn," said Mykyta Chichkan, Director of the Clothing and Gear Programme at DOT.

These headsets are manufactured in one of the European Union countries in accordance with NATO standards. In particular, they provide a noise reduction level of 29 decibels or higher and are designed for use in various weather conditions – whether snow, rain, or extreme temperatures. Another key advantage is enhanced electromagnetic resistance, which ensures better signal transmission.

The first batches are expected to arrive this autumn, initially being delivered to the Joint Supply Centres of the Logistics Forces Command and then directly to the military units.
