Weapons Marketplace: the The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Approves Implementation of the DOT-Chain Defence

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a resolution to scale up the DOT-Chain digital platform. From now on, in addition to providing non-lethal equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the platform will also be used for the procurement of weapons. The introduction of the DOT-Chain Defence marketplace will allow military units to order exactly what they need, while the Defence Procurement Agency will provide financing and delivery. As a result, delivery times will be reduced from months to weeks.

The military will be able to order what they need for their tasks. They will know exactly what, from whom, and when it will arrive. This means more accurate planning, less bureaucracy, and faster delivery. The Ministry of Defense will collaborate with the market to ensure the military receives quality products on time," said Ukrainian Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov.

Initially, FPV drones will be available on the platform, and soon other types of UAVs, electronic warfare equipment, and robotic systems will be added as well.

The implementation of the DOT-Chain Defence creates a number of advantages for all participants in the process:

  • for the military - autonomy in choice, fast delivery, and minimization of paperwork;

  • for manufacturers - production based on real demand and the opportunity to receive feedback from users;

  • for the DPA and DOT - access to analytics and monitoring of contract execution.

     “The DOT-Chain has already demonstrated its effectiveness, which has provided grounds for its expansion. In terms of weapons supply, this means reducing the risk of shortages of critical resources, introducing the principles of market competition, and strengthening the defence capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine through the timely and high-quality provision of the army's needs,” said Arsen Zhumadilov, director of the Defenсe Procurement Agency.

The next steps include signing contracts with manufacturers and approving the military units that will take part in the pilot. Therefore, we plan to launch the marketplace in the near future.

Participation is open to manufacturers. All necessary information for FPV drone manufacturers is  available at the following link
