The state logistics operator is developing a module in the DOT-Chain system, which will be used to supply the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with UAVs, electronic warfare (EW/ERW) systems, ground robotic systems (GRS), and ground control stations (GCS). Digitalization will make the process significantly more transparent and accelerate the delivery of critical tools required for combat missions.
This initiative builds on the successful experience of the DOT-Chain system, which reduced the food supply cycle for the AFU by a factor of four.
"DOT-Chain is evolving rapidly and expanding its potential. From the beginning, I said that this system would eventually go beyond managing food supply orders. That future is now here. Thanks to DOT-Chain, we can quickly deliver drones where the military needs them and in the quantities actually required," said Kateryna Chernogorenko, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformation, and Digitalization.
Key Features of DOT-Chain Defense:
- Unit-Based Selection: Brigade units will independently select the resources they need based on their budgets.
- Direct Interaction: The platform will enable direct communication between manufacturers, suppliers of UAVs, EW/ERW systems, GRS, and GCS, the state logistics operator, and end users—military personnel.
By the first half of 2025, the system will introduce a functionality for gathering needs:
- Each brigade unit will submit requests based on their assigned combat tasks.
- The state logistics operator (DOT) will consolidate these requests and place orders with manufacturers.
The system is already engaging with the market to improve procurement forecasting for manufacturers and establish tools to scale production domestically.
Benefits of DOT-Chain Defense:
- Active Participation in Procurement:
- Units can directly submit requests, improving accuracy and supply chain efficiency.
- Resource and Time Optimization:
- Reduces bureaucratic workloads, allowing military personnel to focus on operational tasks.
- Accelerated Delivery:
- Digitalization minimizes delays between identifying needs and delivering resources.
- Enhanced Transparency and Efficiency:
- Manufacturers gain a clear understanding of military needs, enabling them to optimize production, improve quality, and accelerate manufacturing.
"The implementation of DOT-Chain Defense will not only ensure the swift and efficient supply of UAVs, electronic warfare tools, reconnaissance systems, ground robotic platforms, and ground control stations to our defenders. It will also enable domestic manufacturers to increase production volumes, as they will have a clear understanding of the military's real needs and, based on order data, develop specific areas of production," commented Alyona Zhuja, IT advisor at DOT.
