This time, representatives of DOT, the Ministry of Defense, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine gathered to assess the current state of food supply and discuss plans for the coming year.
In particular, with the understanding that DOT will announce all procurements for 2025 by the end of December, they summarized the performance of contracts over the past three quarters and analyzed the current situation to make adjustments for future tenders.
They discussed changes already implemented by DOT in the second half of 2024, specifically improvements in the "DOT - military unit" interaction chain by assigning specialists to each military unit to facilitate timely communication with the military and address urgent issues.
Special attention was given to the implementation of the DOT-Chain IT system: evaluating how accessible and understandable the transition to electronic document management is for military units, exploring opportunities to expand functionality, and assessing overall progress in the digitalization of processes.
In 2025, to maintain a balance in cooperation with manufacturers and suppliers while ensuring proper provision for service members, warehouse and production line inspections will continue, quality and quantity controls will be maintained, penalty measures will be adjusted, and process automation will proceed.
At the meeting, Halyna Litosh, Director of the DOT Food Program, noted, "We are moving quite quickly with food procurement. At the same time, we have the potential to implement pilot projects. Researching different supply models allows us to identify the optimal one, which will be effective across various regions. This means we are taking into account the needs of the military, recommendations from the public sector, and the capabilities of suppliers and producers."
Such Program Committees are planned to be held regularly in the future, as this format enables effective coordination of actions with key participants in the supply process for the Armed Forces, facilitating prompt decision-making, adjustments, and evaluations in line with requests and needs.
