DOT Team Presents New Approaches to Supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine to Stakeholders

The event was attended by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umierov, Chief Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine General Valeriy Zaluzhny, representatives of central executive authorities, the Armed Forces, international partners, civil organizations, and charitable foundations.

Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umierov noted that the new procurement agency is built according to international standards and NATO principles. He stated that the issue of dishonest procurement for the defense sector has persisted for decades, and for the new team, it is crucial to "put an end to this story."

"Our soldiers prove every day with their lives that our country has changed. We, as the Ministry, must demonstrate with actions and results that we have changed this Soviet legacy," said Rustem Umierov.

"The Armed Forces should focus on fulfilling their tasks, not on searching for food, clothing, and protective equipment," emphasized Valeriy Zaluzhny. He also highlighted the expectation from the new agency for quality and timely provision of all necessary supplies for the Armed Forces.

"The main work is still ahead. Eradicating corruption is only the first stage. Next, it is necessary to build an efficient mechanism to meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is our main priority. The Armed Forces should be timely and adequately provided with quality food, clothing, fuel and lubricants, body armor, helmets, etc.," noted Deputy Minister of Defense Dmytro Klimenkov.

"The main task of DOT is to ensure continuous supply for the Armed Forces, build trust in the supply system of the Ministry of Defense among key stakeholders, and establish a resilient institution that effectively fulfills its duties regardless of the external context. Moreover, all DOT's work will be based on the principles of integrity, human-centricity, professionalism, and openness," said Arsen Zhumadilov.

The DOT team is grateful to the guests for their participation and to our international partners, the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Ukraine, Transparency International Ukraine, and the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative for their trust and support. Together, we work to make the agency an example of transparency and openness.

Special thanks to the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative for supporting the organization of the event.
